A lot of us will be doing the same thing tonight. Marathoning Luke Cage on Netflix.
Between the overblown-budgets of Disney/Marvel movies, the strange decisions that DC is making and the ever-disappointing Fox movies, a small little voice peeped up and said, “Hey. Hey guys. Let me show you what comic fans really want.”
Just like that, Netflix conquered. They have taken the comic book renaissance to new levels with action-packed fight sequences, true-to-storyline plots and damn good interpretations of the hand drawn characters.
With that being said, long-time fans of Power Man and casual Daredevil and Jessica Jones watchers will be turning on their media stations this weekend and marathoning Luke Cage. Expectations may be high but I’m expecting Netflix to deliver. They always do.
Just like I always make punny food to go with this schniz. I present to you, Power Jam. It’s a recipe I like to think Luke makes at home. Or maybe not. BUT… it is a blueberry jam made with pomegranate juice, chock full of antioxidants to promote optimal health! And I have a feeling it would go really well spread on top of some Jessica Scones. Amirite? Sorry, not sorry. Grab a plate and cuddle up with a snack and your new favorite Hero for Hire!
Luke Cage’s Power Jam
24 oz fresh blueberries
¾ cup sugar
2 tbsp pomegranate juice
1 tsp fresh lemon zest
Combine all ingredients in a pot. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, for about 30 minutes or until jam is congealed and smells awesome. Let cool. Spoon into a jar and refrigerate until ready to use. Serve on anything and everything.
